Day 5 – Reverb 11

So I skipped one. So sue me. Day 4 was pretty similar to Day 3 and I figure I’m here to write, but not bore you all to tears with the same story.
So… Day 5

What was the highlight of 2011?

I think if you have little kids, or hell, kids of any age, every year is going to have some awesome highlights.

I think back to a full year ago and my kidlet was so small… barely walking, barely talking. And then one day he just started doing both… like a little man. Breaks my heart to think about it. But every time he took another step, learned to run, learned to memorize music… these are all killer highlights for me.

The first time he held his stuffed animal up to the window of the plane, to explain to Rocko that the airplane was taking off? I almost died, it was so cute.

There were lots of other highlights of course.

My first BlogHer.

Getting the evil bathroom painted.

Getting my chickens.

But honestly, no highlight was ever better than the day my Dad got his clean bill of health after 4 months of hospitals and surgeries, worry and stress. Having him back and in one, bionic piece was the best thing that could have happened in 2011.

Look at all the highlights…

I have some similar highlights from the year with the munchkin. We also had a major health scare with my dad… But we got him on the GAPS diet and he's been healing every since. We have been so grateful to have him back and in better health then he has been in years. So happy that you had a good ending with your dad as well!

I know… it kind of broke my heart when I saw it :-)
I would love to pick your brain about pictures btw… your composition is fabulous. Did you take a class or did you just take a million and one pictures to get as great as you are? :-)

that's a great thing to be happy about, and what an awesome photo to reflect the sentiment!

Any photography books you could recommend? I want to kind of jump in, but don't really want to waste my time on books that aren't going to help. :-) My time is so damn limited these days. :-)
