Deck the Halls… with a Dead Cell Phone. An Everpurse #Giveaway!

I have a terrible and annoying habit.

I NEVER charge my cell phone. Like ever ever ever and it’s always dead.

I mean, this usually isn’t a big deal because I rarely go farther than 20 minutes from my house and I have a USB cord that kind of charges my new iPhone 5. But of course when you’re at a large mall parking lot and texting your husband to figure out where he parked the car? Yeah, this was not the time to have a dead phone… and yet.

Imagine my panic as I carried the Peanut, lead the Big Kid by the hand and lugged my new laptop, my enormous diaper bag and the equally enormous piece of carrot cake I’d gotten from my birthday lunch around the monstrous parking lot, hoping to at least see a car that looked like mine.

“Hey Big Kid, when you and Daddy parked, did you park far or near?”

“Oh SO far Mom, SO far.”

“Did you go left or right?”

“Left! I mean, Right! I mean… uuuuuuhhhhh.”

This was not going well.

Eventually we found the car after about 15 minutes of looking. Right smack in the front, literally 5 steps from the front of the mall.

I looked down at the Big Kid, “THIS is far??”

He looked calmly back at me, “SO far Mom.”

Of course if I had had THIS amazing little piece of technology in my enormous diaper bag, I wouldn’t have had a problem. This year’s must have crossover tech and fashion accessory–also known as wearable tech–is the Everpurse. The clutch purse that charges your smartphone. Yep, you read that correctly. A chic and stylish handbag that keeps your phone charged on the go with an integrated smart phone charging pocket. It’s like they made it just for me.

Want to hear from someone who’s got one? How about this review by Cristi of Motherhood Unadorned? And if you’d like to purchase your own, go to and enter this special code: ITSFITTING13 for 5% off your purchase. (Please enter this code at checkout where it asks for a gift card code.)

Available in fabric and leather in many beautiful colors, Everpurse is small enough to be used inside a larger purse or used by itself as a clutch. There is also an optional wrist strap or shoulder strap available.

Retail price: $189 to $329.

Everpurse is compatible with iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5, as well as the new iPhone 5s/5c. If you’re an Android user , Everpurse works with Samsung Galaxy S3/S4. Your Everpurse also comes with a charging mat that is used to wirelessly charge the purse. It takes six hours to fully charge and a full charge will charge a phone twice over. If not used the charge lasts approximately two weeks.

If another member of your family has a smartphone with the “Qi” charging standard (iPhones are not on this standard) they can simply place their phone on the charging mat and wireless charge their phone directly. (Here’s a Pinterest Board of phones with this charging standard).

Look how chic it would be as an accessory to your holiday style. And if you’re like me, it won’t only look cute, but keep you from wandering aimlessly through a parking lot with no charge on your phone
