24 months ago I woke up and the adventure began.
24 months ago I began a journey that would start with no sleep and sore boobs, would continue with crawling, walking and talking, and will keep trucking alongwith more new words, reading, preschool, elementary school, high school, college and beyond.
24 months ago our lives were changed forever.
I look at you and can’t believe how big you’ve gotten. How many words and sentences you use. How much of a boy you are now. We play soccer together, and baseball and golf. You still snuggle with me (sometimes) and still love to give hugs and to push your Mama to the breaking point almost every single day.
I wouldn’t trade you for anything. I wouldn’t trade this life for my old life in LA, full of glitz and glamour. I wouldn’t trade this life, this place, for anything I’ve done in the past.
At 10:39 pm on Saturday an alarm went off, a reminder of the exact minute you decided to join us in this world. I cried, remembering how small and squished you looked, how full of adrenaline I was, how excited, how “prepared” I was for it all.
I will never forget as long as I live the day that you came into our lives. That day, that moment, will be engraved upon my heart until my last day, my last breathe. You will always hold the most special place in my heart, my firstborn, my first baby, my son.
Happy 2nd Birthday.
