Of spray paint, what were YOU thinking? Jeez.
Ok, I have heard it over and over from my friends that are crafty and/or designers. Spray paint is THE way to go.
Not just for tagging bridges anymore, spray paint is the way to make something old, new again. To make something hideously ugly or impossible to paint, look FABULOUS!
With that in mind, I give you, the most hideous piece of furniture known to man. (And if you own it… I apologize…sort of)
Ah the beauty of pine…
What better way to display dishes and crystal than with beautiful (rusty) wrought iron leaves…
It does have drawers… I had just removed them to start the process… I’m not THAT ghetto
But still, it matched nothing, looked straight out… well nothing I’d ever heard of and was a general eye sore in my dining room. It had been purchased from an old roommate, a million years ago, for an old apartment in LA. I think it actually used to hold a TV… or maybe clothes at one point.
But anyway…
With a little Rustoleum, a little elbow grease and a few totally toxic fumes, we got THIS.
Mind boggling, right?
And the best part? It was finished in less than 24 hours. It took a few coats, and about 6 cans of spray paint, but at $3.95 a can? Ha, much cheaper than buying a new china hutch.
And that hideous decorative foliage? All I had to do was remove the 10 inch, tetanus laden screws that held it in, and it was gone. The hubby is even thinking about putting glass in its place!!!
The best part of all? It really brings out the crystal in my crystal…
You’re next you ugly bitch…
