Ok, well maybe it’s more of a Home Simpson beer and donut gut… But it’s definitely THERE.
Even with the ever increasing girth, I feel good! I’m still running and doing yoga, but WHOA after two weeks off for vacation was THAT hard to get back into. Talk about the law of inertia… This body was at rest… and wanted to stay at rest. But I’ve kept the weight gain on the low side and plan to just keep doing what I’m doing… including the cookies and cupcakes I’ve been inhaling.
According to AlphaMom’s awesome pregnancy calendar, my kid is about 5 inches long and starting to get some baby chub… I don’t know WHERE it’s hiding though, because I don’t feel like 5 inches of anything could fit into that bump yet. Creating life is so weird.
So, I’m into maternity clothes, which would be fine except I went through my clothes from last time and… WTF did I wear? OMG. Granted I was in an office most of the time, but I swear I must have spent the rest of the time naked, or with a bag over my head, because I would not be caught DEAD in most of these clothes. Also, weirdly enough, I’m a different size than I was when I was pregnant last time. Most of the clothes I wore back then (at this time) are HUGE on me and I’m finding it a little bit surprising, if not annoying. I’ve already gone through and donated a heap ton of maternity clothes already, so I think I’ll have to sneak out and buy some more. Shhhh, don’t tell the hubby.
Ah, I had forgotten about this delightful side effect to pregnancy. CRAZY anxiety. I remember this from the last time, but it didn’t hit until MUCH MUCH later. I’m trying to just keep up with the breathing and the yoga and the exercising to keep my crazy hormonal nerves in check, but WATCH OUT WORLD, I’m a pregnant lady on the loose. Hide your cookies.
All in all things are great and I REALLY can’t complain. I feel good, I look only slightly more rotund than when I started and the second tri has come in with a bang! This really is my favorite part of the whole pregnancy, so I’ll try to savor it before I can’t see my feet.
