Do you know what happens when you put an Irish redhead in the sun? Hrm, yeah. Something alone the lines of what happens when you stick Eric Northman in the sun… blisters, smoke, red angry looking skin.
So guess what happens when you stick an Irish toddler in the sun? Yeah, you get the drift.
Summertime is obviously the time for us to get.out.of.the.house. It’s not raining (thank the lord), the weather here is sublime and a little toasty, and the pool is open. HOORAY! But since I have a tendency to shun the sun in order to save the kiddo’s and my pale, non-tanning skin, summertime can also pose a little bit of a problem. Because honestly, getting into the pool fully clothed kinda blows, especially for a little boy who just wants to RUN! PLAY! SWIM! (If only he could actually swim)
We do it though, slathering on the sun screen, hats, umbrellas, tents, towels and whatever other accoutrements we can get our hands on to keep our lily white skin… well, lily white. We have melanoma in our family and I take that stuff seriously. Very Seriously.
So when we went to the river yesterday the sun was shining, the heat was on and I was armed with buckets of sunscreen and a new outfit for the kidlet.
Who’s a sexy beast now?
