Did you know that before kids I had a career? Like a real, honest to god professional JOB? Yeah, who knew, right?
So a million years ago, I used to be an event planner. Weddings, corporate events, movie premieres, galas, you name it, I’ve probably either planned it, or had a hand in planning it. And the best part of my job? I enjoyed it. I really and truly liked planning events, the rush of getting it all together, the nitty gritty details of a presentation, or a wedding. Talking people (usually a bride) off the ledge and reminding them that YES indeed, I am good at this and I am in charge.
So imagine my delight when Graco decided that they wanted me to host an event for them!

But at the end of the day? It was an event. And it was fantastic! I’d forgotten how much I liked to get together details, and supplies and plan out footprints for presentations… oh and me getting up and talking to people? I still totally love that.
It was fun to tell people about a product that I could see myself using. It was even MORE fun to give them away, especially to those first time parents who were registering for their very first car seat for their kiddo. Who would never have to worry about when to change their kiddo around forward-facing now that there are such clear recommendations (it’s 2 years old now). Who would take home this awesome car seat and not have to buy another one for TWO WHOLE YEARS. Yeah, I may have been the planner but don’t think I wasn’t green with envy at the idea of taking home that kick butt seat.
I mean, the thing adjusts to fit your little one from the day you bring them home, to the day they turn two. The headrest and even the base itself adjust to accommodate your little monster as they grow and grow and grow. And there’s even a foot rest, so that your little terror doesn’t thrash your car interior.

At the end of the day, I was reminded of why I did events in the first place. Getting a chance to meet people, talk to them about something I was passionate about, and put together an event where people had fun… God I miss it.
So I’ve got about 7 more weeks till this kid comes… anyone want me to plan anything else for them?
