The Peanut is 3 months old! But wait you say… Wasn’t that LAST week? No, because this is baby math… and it’s always helpful to remember that until some vague time around 5-6 months old, you measure by weeks. And that the number of weeks old they are, rarely corresponds with the actual month.
Just try to keep up here.
So remember the epic cuteness that was 12 weeks? I mean seriously, SO ADORABLE.
I crap you not, in ONE WEEK, at 3 months old, we have gone from epic smiling, happy, cuteness, to this…
I will not lie to you, I’m in a little bit of shell shock. The screams that have been coming from our house have not gone unnoticed by the neighbors and our usual babysitter across the street might actually have stopped returning my phone calls/cries for help. The peanut has turned into such a GRUMP.
Her sleeping habits at night have changed (I KNEW I SHOULDN’T HAVE SAID ANYTHING TO YOU PEOPLE), and while she’s still sleeping pretty well, she’s awfully squirmy at night. And loud. And this morning? 5:30am was her wake up of choice. FOR THE DAY.
And on top of this all, don’t even TRY to put her down. She just gives you this look like, BITCH, PUHLEASE… turns a glorious shade of puce, and emits a scream that if left unattended might actually break glass.
The irony in all of this “my 3 month old is finally waking up” crap? Her big brother screamed from birth to 3 months old… then stopped. And was like, the most gloriously happy baby ever. This one? I got all proud of myself for the fact that my baby DIDN’T scream/cry/carry on like her brother did for the first 3 months. What a GREAT sleeper she was! How LUCKY we were to have like, the BEST baby in the whole world.
Thank you universe for putting the smack down on my self righteous bullshit. I hear you loud and clear.
Here’s to being 3 months old!

On a less traumatic and noisy note… come back tomorrow for the first of my KILLER giveaways! And learn how every once in a while, I actually have the perfect family…
(maybe while they are sleeping and I am drinking wine in the closet)
