Look at this. Aren’t we just the perfect family? I look at this picture and see a smiling 3.5 year old, a handsome husband, and a peaceful, adorable baby. Doesn’t it just make you gag… just a little bit… at how nauseatingly well behaved my children are and how good we all look?
Well, thank god for pictures.
So, as you may or may not have seen, my amazing infant has morphed into a little bit of a hellcat. So all of that talk of a sweet, adorable, smiling child?
LIES.
Well, at least it wasn’t a lie when I wrote it… but it certainly is now.
Tuesday was one of those days where the children work on out-screaming each other and try and see who can sleep the least. The 3.5 year old had on his sassypants, the 12 week old had on her screaming pants and Mommy had on her omfg-I need-wine-pants.
But eventually they all went to sleep and I could stare lovingly at the family on the wall. Because did I mention that this picture of our family is pretty much life-size? And on gorgeous canvas? With deep beautiful color that brings out the blue in my family’s eyes and makes us all look like models? (Ok, a stretch, but still.)
This amazing canvas came from Printerpix. It was really easy to order, came quickly and I was incredibly impressed by the quality. The colors are wonderful, the frame is thick and the size? Well suffice it to say I got mine in size LARGE.
The website was a breeze too. You upload your picture in a high resolution, pick your size and they have different scenes so that you can preview it. Want to look at it in a living room setting, behind the couch? Done. In the den? You got it. A life-size picture of you in your bathroom? Sure… *cough* weirdo
Whatever photo you choose to do, you can take a picture of your life, those moments when you really do have the perfect family, blow them up and mount them on your wall. Then look longingly at that picture when your children are screaming, your husband is gone for a business trip and the rest of your house looks like a bomb went off.
Because at least on your wall, in all it’s glory, is the evidence that for one small sliver of time you had the perfect family.
The Perfect Family will eventually make it on the wall… But right now I’m too busy trying to survive…
