She’s 5 months old now. *gasp* I seriously can’t believe it. It’s all sailing by in a sleep deprived blur, but DAMN is this kid cute. And fun. Well, as much fun as a 5 months old potted plant can be.
She’s definitely got a spitfire personality, THAT’S for sure. She flat out REFUSES to let anyone else hold her besides the hubby or me and if you do? Well, WOE TO YOU (and your eardrums). It’s not so much of a cry as a shriek. It’s pretty impressive if I do say so myself, but her stranger (or family/friends/neighbor) anxiety is getting pretty damn old. I’d love to hand her off every once in a while but NOPE.
She’s eating FOOD now! It’s totally cute and adorable but I may have completely screwed myself by starting with fruit, because this kid ONLY wants the sweet. SCREW the green peas. Green peas are for SUCKERS. Hold out for the pears and the prunes and the sweet potato if you can. And if devil woman tries to feed you green peas again? Spit them at her. (This has happened)
She’s definitely a thumb sucker. Sigh. The pacifier doesn’t hold quite the appeal that it did for the big kid, which is good and bad. She LOVES to remove it and stick her thumb in that cute little mouth instead, which is fine for now, but if we’re still dealing with that problem in 5 years? Ugh. As someone said, you can take away the paci, but can’t remove the thumbs.
She’s kind of sleeping in her own bed these days. She starts there anyway, but I’m so lazy this time around that the minute I hear her it’s BACK into our room so I can just roll over and stick boobs in her mouth all night long. Mama’s gotta get her sleep and running back and forth to her room ain’t gonna cut it.
Sleep. Yeah, that. Sleep isn’t great these days. She’s awake and up and ready to party around 3:00am every night, but sometimes that can be 12:00am, 2:00, 4:00 and 5:00. You would think that I’d go to bed when they go to bed at 8:00, but nope. I’m an idiot.
She’s rolling both ways like a champ (and has been for about a month now) but I haven’t seen any crawling movement yet. ThankGOD. I don’t have the brain capacity right now to baby proof my house and the thought of chasing two of them makes me twitchy.
All in all she’s pretty damn great though. Opinionated, sassy and ALL girl. She’s got her back arch, noodle legs and shriek down to a science and she’s already giggling when the Big Kid gets into trouble.
I’m in for it… huh?
Good thing she loves her Big.
