So yeah… still kind of recovering from the weekend. It was a whirlwind of insane traveling, parties, events and … well more insane traveling. I’ll be discussing it more this week, but remember my post on how to travel with 2 kids? It was useful. Very very useful. And with all of the activity, I’ll be honest, I’m exhausted. I just don’t seem to bounce back from it like I used to.
GAH, getting old.
But, while we were insanely running about seeing people and attending events, we also got to sneak in some quality time with BonBon and PopPop, which is always nice. They took the Big Kid to his first Putt Putt experience (whole in one at 3.5 years old?!), managed to keep the Peanut from crying bloody murder every time they looked at her (SCORE!!) and were great babysitters when we needed a chance to sneak out to see old friends.
And on Sunday, we had an opportunity to hit up the USS Midway, where PopPop is a docent. It was all decked out for the holiday, with every aircraft and exhibit manned by someone who had flown it, or been there. It was an impressive display of, as my husband would say, “Great Americans” and always so interesting to hear these guys tell their stories. They are MEN, for sure.
And it’s always fun to go before it opens and try on some of the gear…
Even if they say the last Fighter Pilot was born about 5 years ago, it’s still great to pretend, right?
