Like, no shit, right?
But I guess I didn’t expect things to be SO different.
The Big Kid was crazy in his own right, but more measured, more calm, more reasonable. He had a strong sense of self-preservation, rarely got into things, and just while he was ALL boy, just didn’t feel the need to chuck himself off objects or grab sharp things to prove it.
The Peanut, however, is just plain NUTSO. She tantrums (which I rarely saw from the BK), head-butts if her brother takes something from her or she is displeased with him, screams, carries on and is generally insane. I have gotten the wet noodle when getting in the car, screams of HEEEEELLLLLP when I make her buckle her seatbelt and screeches that can break glass.
Both the husband and I are at a loss. We are in uncharted, but adorable territory. She’s sweet and lovable and stubborn and difficult and charms everyone with her words and constant talking and demands.
I have to make her say please, because otherwise it’s “HAVE IT NOW”, “GIVE IT TO ME”…
*Abby, nice words please*
“Pwease Mommy”
*I die*
She demands to hear Disney music, demands her crayons to COLOR COLOR COLOR and when she is finished with things? Chucks them across the room. This can include food, plates, crayons, markers, toys.
She lays down in the middle of the sidewalk when she doesn’t get her way like any self respecting toddler would do…
But at least her brother will lay next to her in solidarity.
These kids. Love ’em.
