Buying gifts in our house has always been a bit of a challenge. Christmas is nearly impossible because my husband has usually bought everything that he wants well before the holiday, I don’t really need anything (except that dang VitaMix) and the kids… well, Legos are always a safe bet. But really, when it comes to holidays where presents are involved, we are always at a little bit of a loss. This why when it comes to holidays like Mother’s Day, I’m either hinting HEAVILY at what I want, or I just buy it myself… because with my ever-changing tastes, I can’t possibly expect my husband to keep up.
Some days I’m classic, with my 50’s skirts, gold necklaces and hoop earrings.
Most Some days I’m sporty, decked out in yoga pants, my FitBit Charge HR and a pony tail.
And some days I’m a cool girl, rockin’ the skinny jeans.
God help the man who has to buy a gift for THESE three faces of Eve.
But I recently stumbled across the most amazing place to find gifts for ALL the women people in your life, from the hippie to the home chef.
With beautiful and unique items, UncommonGoods had everything I could want to buy myself for Mother’s Day. From the classic, to the eclectic, all I had to do was choose my persona of the moment and I could find something special for myself.
which while probably not the most conventional Mother’s Day present, I love how it reminds me of the bracelets I brought back from Colombia. My daughter in particular loves picking through them, telling the story back to me, pointing out the sun and the animals and the stars.
Of course, I’m still looking for the other Mothers in my life… maybe the wine pearls for the wine-loving mom (after all, ice cubes in chardonnay are SO passé) and some beautiful gardening things for the green thumb mom in my life. Heck, I might even buy myself something else… because the classic woman in me really likes these, and my husband still hasn’t bought me anything.
The best part about buying beautiful gifts for yourself your loved ones from Uncommon Goods is that they are an amazing company to boot! With every purchase they donate $1 to the non-profit of your choice and have made over $700,000 in donations since the company as founded. They believe in fair wages, giving back to their community and the environment.
Shopping for yourself, your friends or your family… and giving back to the community.
Win-Win.
