Remember how a few weeks ago we had a chance to drop into a Play-Well Teknologies session? Well a few weeks after that the Big Kid got to go to camp. Like his very first, drop-off (I wish it had been sleep-away), CAMP.
And he got to learn how to be a Star Wars Jedi.
Ok maybe not be a Jedi, but certainly to build LEGOs like one.
For five days, 3 hours a day he learned how to build Tie Fighters, Imperial Shuttles and crafted R2 units with motors that rolled across the floor. Oh, and did I mention the battle tracks? It was destruction and LEGOs and physics and the Big Kid loved every minute of it.
They started off every morning in their LEGO Play-Well circle, refreshing the rules (because let’s be honest, they were 5-7 year olds) and talking about their plans for the day. Each thing was built piece by piece by their Play-Well Leader, making sure they knew all of the names for each piece. I certainly didn’t know there were pieces call long and short hole-y beams… The things you learn at LEGO camp.
The Big Kid came home every day inspired and loving LEGO and Play-Well and everything Star Wars… and begged me to buy him new LEGO sets, just like the ones he was building. We might be getting some motors for Christmas… or maybe just take more Play-Well classes… because he actually cleans up his LEGOs at Play-Well (which does NOT happen at my house).
They are still enrolling classes and camps for the rest of the summer so check out a Play-Well Teknologies by you to get the last bit of summer fun. Or if you don’t have time before school starts, they even have after school enrichment programs. Heck, they even have homeschooling programs for pre-engineers! All fun, all educational and ALL LEGO.
Play-Well TEKnologies provided us with a week of Jedi Engineering Camp, but ALL opinions on it’s awesomeness are my own.
