It’s no secret that I love to bake. It’s also no secret, at least if you know me personally, that I LOVE my KitchenAid mixer.
I can still remember buying it. I was single, 25, not a home owner, or even remotely interested in settling down and becoming a grown-up. But I was interested in baking and cooking. And I was VERY interested in getting myself a fancy new KitchenAid Mixer for Christmas. I actually got it on Black Friday with my mom, armed to the teeth with coupons, %30 off this, %20 off this and ended up getting it at about a $100 discount, which was AWESOME.
Did I mention that I got it in University of Virginia Orange??? Yeah… so totally cool.
So it became a permanent fixture in my extremely small kitchen. I may not have had the counter space, but by GOD I made room. Because this baby was meant to be seen.
It was also meant to be used…
And every year I use it to make my holiday cookies. Days and weeks are spent listening to it work dough, froth meringues, or cream pounds and pounds of butter and sugar together. (It would seem incapable of making anything remotely low fat or healthy.) And every year I have dozens of delicious holiday cookies to give to friends and neighbors and about 5 additional pounds that I need to lose come January. I’ve compiled some of my favorite gift basket recipes that I give every year, along with delicious breads that you make small loafs of ahead of time and freeze.

Chocolate Chip Cookies Apple Spice Bread
Oh and did I mention that I’m also giving away a KitchenAid Mixer of your very own???
Or if cooking isn’t your thing, how about a Keurig? Or if coffee isn’t your thing, how about a Kindle Paperwhite?
I know, it’s pretty awesome. Books, coffee or baked goods. Happy Holidays!
